The VIII Atlantic Coast Masterclass & Competition will provide an extraordinary and unique opportunity for conductors to train, develop and perfects their technique and skills in the art of conducting in an high standards and exceptional music environment under the mentoring of Maestro Luis Miguel Clemente, a leading conductor in the portuguese music scene. Maestro Clemente’s reputation of excellence and his philosophy makes him one of the world’s most distinguished, sought-after, inspiring, charismatic, and renowned "new generation" conducting pedagogues, having mentored and trained many international conducting students and professional conductors from all over the world. As a specialist in Carlos Kleiber’s conducting technique (DMA in Orchestra Conducting with thesis on Carlos Kleiber) and Ilyia Music technique, Maestro Luis Miguel Clemente is an experimented conductor and a conducting pedagogue of worldwide demand and has given conducting masterclasses all around the globe. He as a refined and very eclectic academic career in areas such as Conducting, Musicology, Performing Arts and Ethnomusicology. He is currently head of studies at the Atlantic Coast Conducting Academy (Portugal), Chief Conductor of the Orquestra da Costa Atlântica.
